Event Description

In December 2021 – January 2022, the Department of International Law of the Russian State University of Justice, together with the International and Comparative Law Research Center is holding the fourth annual International Law Competition "Dispute Resolution in the Eurasian Economic Union 2022"

The contest “Dispute Resolution in the EAEU” is a unique educational platform that allows future legal professionals to study the dispute resolution process within the EAEU in the moot court format.

The purpose of this competition is to form a new generation of highly qualified specialists in the field of international law in the EAEU countries, capable of representing the interests of both states and members of the business communities of their countries in international jurisdictional bodies.

The topics of the competitive “Virus Case” in 2022 are the competence of the EAEU Court, conducting antitrust investigations in the Union, the competence of the Eurasian Economic Commission, filing counterclaims, freedom of movement of labor.

Sixteen teams from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia participated in the written and oral stages.

The final round, the conference, announcement of winners, and awarding ceremony were held on Student Day, January 25, 2022, at the Russian State University of Justice.

The ream of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration has become the winner.

Anastasia Ivenskaya received a prize as the best speaker from the ICLRC — a certificate for participation in the Summer School on Public International Law 2022.

In addition, the Center provided a certificate in the amount of 25,000 RUB for the purchase of legal literature to the team of M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University, who wrote the best memorandum.
